Jillion the 26' Westerly Centaur will set out from Portugal fully provisioned to not enjoy a marina for 40 days. We will load with all provisions and be on the hook, or off the grid for the entirety of this trip. This will show the storage capacity and ingenuity of the crew. Running on 2 12v batteries wired in a series, with approximately 410ah. The electrical system is charged by a 1600w wind generator and 80w of solar mono crystal power. No refrigeration. Main source of food will be eggs, legumes, and canned vegetables.

  1. Get your Chinese noodles packed for the trip.. at about 29euro cts a pkt great value and no weight, just add hot water wait 3 mins and eat.. Potatoes are ok for first week or so.. cooked in sea water ..Eggs do not always last long.. one way to preserve is to dip in paraffin wax.. keeps air out.. it will take a while to provision your boat.. take everything you can think of.. including a tin of turkey for Xmas...Pkt soups are good but tend to spill on cooker. think about a couple of metal Thermos flasks to cook them in.. once again add boiling water and waiting works on the simple ones.

  2. Thanks for the Provision tips Jim. When we ordered from Tesco last time it worked out perfect, they seem to have a similar way of ordering in Porto as well. Which would defiantly help us save time on shopping and picking it up, it was so nice to have the food delivered, and only 5 pounds delivery, yes please.
